Curation Standards
Perennial Finds is a discovery platform for vintage, antique, collectible and secondhand goods from around the world. We carefully select the stores and products we show, so that browsing here feels closer to a well-edited magazine than an endless marketplace.
What we look for
- Product relevance
- Items that genuinely fit vintage, antique, collectible, secondhand, pre-owned or specialist categories.
- Seller quality
- A legitimate business or clearly identifiable seller with clear store information.
- Presentation
- Reasonable product photography and accurate, readable descriptions.
- Condition information
- Clear, honest condition detail so you know what you are buying.
- Authenticity information
- Appropriate authenticity detail where luxury or collectible goods are involved.
- Seller policies
- Shipping and return or consumer policy information where available.
- Overall shopping experience
- A store that is pleasant, clear and trustworthy to buy from.
Store levels
- Listed Store
- Meets Perennial's basic requirements.
- Curated Store
- Reviewed and selected for strong product quality, presentation, authenticity or specialisation.
- Featured Store
- An exceptional store that we actively highlight.
Curated and Featured status is always assigned by our editors — never automatically.
How we use vintage terms
- Vintage
- Generally 20+ years old.
- Antique
- Generally 100+ years old.
- Pre-owned
- Previously owned; age alone does not make an item vintage.
- Used
- Previously used.
- Deadstock / New Old Stock
- Older stock that has remained unused or unsold.
These are editorial guidelines we use for curation, not universal legal definitions. We also avoid claiming an item is “verified authentic” unless an actual verification process has taken place.
How buying works
Perennial is a discovery platform. We do not hold inventory or process payments. When you find something you love, you continue to the original seller's website and complete the purchase directly with them, under their own shipping, returns and consumer policies.
